Beco Butterfly II

PLEASE NOTE: It is Beco's policy that retailers are not permitted to export Becos to countries that have an existing Beco retailer, so please do not order a Beco from us if you have a Beco retailer in your country.

From infancy thru toddlerhood (7-45 lbs), it's fast and simple on and off, can be used for front and back carry, comes in gorgeous designer fabrics, and is durable and machine washable. You simply can't go wrong with Beco! And it's made in USA!

PRODUCT FEATURES:

  1. Removable Infant Insert: Beco Butterfly II is the ONLY carrier on the market with this feature. The infant insert enables even the smallest babies to ride safely and comfortably, in ergonomically proper position in the baby carrier. The infant insert can be removed once baby outgrows the need for it after which point baby will ride in the regular insert. Recommended use for infant insert is 7-15 lbs. Infant insert is INCLUDED with carrier.
  2. Security Inside Panel: The shoulder straps of the baby carrier are attached to the carrier's inside panel, which improves the distribution of the baby's weight. This makes the carrier VERY comfortable for both wearer and baby, and it enables the wearer to pass baby to another wearer without taking baby out of the carrier -- very convenient! The inside panel contributes to the safe use of the carrier -- baby sits between this panel and the outside main body of the carrier, and these two components together creates a harness for baby's body. Also, loading baby on wearer's back is much safer and easier with this inside panel, because it prevents baby from slipping down or falling out.
  3. Removable Head Rest/Sleeping Hood: The main purpose of the head rest is to support a head of a sleeping child, but it can be also used as a protection from elements (sun, rain, snow - although it is NOT waterproof). Users will get the best use out of the hood with children between 6 months to 2 years, but the hood can be used with children younger or older than this range. The hood is stored in a pocket on the waist belt when not needed, and can be used in both the front and back carry.
  4. Stay Put Strap: This is basically a simple 1-inch-wide belt with two d-rings, which is sewn at the waist belt and serves to keep the baby carrier rolled neatly up for storage. Alternatively the carrier can be rolled up this way and attached around the wearer's waist like a fanny pack and perform as a "hip seat" for a child (this would be a hand-assisted hip carry, as opposed to the hands-free front and back carry). Although a user would need a hand to keep child seated on the hip, it is more ergonomic and comfortable than pushing out your hip to create a 'seat' for the baby.

  5. Tall, tapered carrier body: The Beco provides lots of upper body support for your baby or toddler, holds baby close to your body for greater comfort. Prevents the shoulder strain associated with wearing babies who like to lean backwards.
  6. Adjustable buckles on the top of the carrier body: These enable easy nursing access. In a front carry, loosen the buckles to allow your baby to drop down lower in the carrier. Then lift your breast to allow your baby to latch on. These same buckles also enable you to adjust the closeness of your child to your body.
  7. Ergonomically-shaped shoulder pads: These curved pads adapt to the wearer's body, and are padded with 0.75" foam for ultimate comfort.
  8. Padded waistband: The waistband is firm and supportive while maintaining a slim profile. It is a single piece of foam divided into three by seams. The padded part of the waist belt is 29” long and can be adjusted from 29” to 50”.
  9. Recommended care: Your Beco should be washed on gentle cycle in cold water with a mild detergent. Hang to dry overnight in well ventilated area. Spot clean when needed. Care instructions are sewn to the carrier on the product label, so you always have them handy.
